Air Chucks

Open flow chucks let air pass through whether or not they're locked onto a valve stem — right for hand-held gauges, inflators, and tankless 12-volt compressors, since there's no tank to protect. Closed flow chucks have a built-in check valve that blocks airflow until locked onto the stem — right for a tank compressor's hose line, so the tank doesn't bleed down every time the chuck isn't engaged.
